Albert Barker joined Worldview Foundation in October 2018 first as a participant and then stayed on with the Foundation team as a mentor. Albert is passionate about helping young Indigenous men turn their lives around and sharing his lived experience as a way to support and mentor.

Worldview Foundations approach to Indigenous & First Nations empowerment means Albert can give young Indigenous men the same chance he got and be the hand that helps them.

Having been a part of the Worldview Foundation team for some time, Albert wears many hats. As a senior mentor, Albert works with participants to do driving lessons through our community driving partner, Caleo. As part of his role, he also leads the Young Bruthas group, that focuses on cultural and men’s healing through cultural knowledge.

The most rewarding part of Albert’s role is seeing young men turn their lives around and do well, not just in the program, but also when they leave it.

Albert brings lived experience and cultural knowledge, underpinned by a deep understanding and patience for participants, and a genuine passion for helping mob build the foundation for their lives.

Kurt’s purpose is to leave the world a better place than he found it by using his diverse skills to create change. Kurt was an Australian of the Year Finalist in the ACT. Kathleen brings with her a wealth of experience in business marketing, sales, social enterprise, and management.

Warren Bingwa joined Worldview Foundation in April 2023, bringing with him a background in employment services, mentoring and workforce development. Originally from Zimbabwe, Warren has a strong appreciation for cultural identity and the role it plays in shaping individuals and communities. He was drawn to Worldview’s hands-on, holistic approach to supporting First Nations people into real employment opportunities and achieving long-term outcomes, which aligns closely with his passion for Indigenous culture, history and community connection.

Warren initially commenced as a Mentor within the Pathways program, working closely with participants on the warehouse floor. In this role, he provided day-to-day support, helped build confidence, and guided participants through both personal development and workplace expectations.

In his current role as National Transitions Officer, Warren focuses on supporting participants into external employment opportunities, strengthening relationships with employers and service providers, and creating clear, sustainable pathways into long-term employment outcomes.

The most rewarding aspect of Warren’s role is seeing participants grow in confidence and transition into meaningful employment — particularly those who may not have previously seen employment as an achievable goal.

Warren brings a practical, outcomes-focused approach to his work, underpinned by strong communication skills, cultural understanding, and a genuine commitment to supporting people to create lasting change in their lives.

Gerrit Wanganeen is a notable figure primarily involved in Indigenous Australian affairs and corporate governance. He has served in various significant roles, including as the Acting Registrar of Indigenous Corporations. In this capacity, he has overseen the administration of numerous Indigenous corporations, particularly in contexts requiring financial oversight and management. Find Gerrit on LinkedIn
